OUIL406- Visual Communication- What Makes Good Character Design

What is Good Character Design
I don't think character design can be defined in so many words. I think for a character to be seen as 'good' it would need to be seen as relatable to someone. But different characters will be relatable to different people. Aesthetically, I don't think there can be specific criteria, again, everyone will like different things.

Movement is definitely important to creating a character. Similarly with my project, objects must have some sort of relatable function or aesthetic for it to become an effective character. The way a character moves can dictate its mood or attitude, and facial expressions can also be used to dictate this.

I have gathered some examples of what I think is good design of characters to use as reference for the brief.
