OUIL505- Colour Scheming

So as the images are beginning to develop, I have started to consider what colours I want to use for the final images. I tihgout about using really bright and bold colours, as the images are supposed to be for advertisements, so to stand out more, however I just didn't feel like this scheme really reflected what Yorkshire is all about.

I wanted to stick to the root images people have of Yorkshire. So I decided that I wanted to use lots of greens and browns, to reflect the countryside aspect, as well as a lot of blues to add a bit of brightness to the posters. I also thought about the application of the images, and who they were going to be made for. I looked on Yorkshire.com and their main choice of colour is pink, so I decided that I wanted to include a bit of pink in some of the images.

I am actually really glad that ima considering colour this late on, it gave me a much better opportunity to focus on the values and balance of the images rather that being hung up on which colour should go where and it has made limiting my colours down to just 5 colours really easy.

I wanted to keep all of the 'human' elements in the images pure black, I think this adds to the ambiguity of the images and will hopefully help- them to engage with the viewers a lot more.
