This first part of the brief has not only helped me to decide which locations I wanted to use, but it also inspired me to get started and producing some ideas. I almost with I would have taken my sketchbook with me on location rather than just taking pictures as I think I could have produced some more ideas on location.

OUIL505- Research
The first few weeks of this brief were spent researching different places around Yorkshire. At first it felt like I wasn't really getting much value out of the process and I felt a bit like I was wasting my time. However, upon reflection I really think this part of the process has been the most influential over my practice for a while. I think research is something I have often overlooked in the past, often diving straight into the design stage and ignoring the thought behind the illustrations.
